An interview from the 2016 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas with Lee Estroff of Bexel. Bexel is the global leader of broadcast services, providing an extensive range of equipment rentals, systems integration, and world-class engineering support for around the camera, in the studio and outside broadcast. Offering comprehensive production services for more than 30 years, Bexel has supported major broadcasters in bringing the most important events to a global audience, earning a reputation for reliability and innovation.
In this interview Lee shows off the QT-5100 PlayerMic S, the worlds smallest player worn wireless mic provided by Bexel and used exclusively by the NBA. The centerpiece of the system is the Quantum5X (Q5X) QT5100 PlayerMic, which was tested in select games last season. It features a unique, rubberized, low-profile transmitter housed in a neoprene pouch, and sewn into a specially designed pocket in a player’s jersey. A wire was run from the transmitter up to the collar of the jersey, where a Countryman B6 lavalier microphone was clipped.
